POWERPOINT INSTRUCTIONS

TASK: Work collaboratively with fellow culinary & health assisting students to research a diet or recipe, analyze whether it is heart-healthy or not, & prepare and share a presentation (PPT).

POWERPOINT REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Title slide: Is ___ a Heart-Healthy Diet? By …….
  2. The Diet: Describe the diet or recipe (Culinary leads; all contribute)
  3. Is the Diet Heart Healthy: Analyze the diet & its ingredients. What makes it heart-healthy or not? How does it compare to our group research & sources on heart-healthy diets? Use and cite at least 2 sources from the group padlet (Health Assisting leads; all contribute)
  4. Final Thoughts: Recap the three most important things others should know about the diet and whether it is heart-healthy (Early Ed leads, all contribute)
  5. Works Cited: Proper MLA format (All contribute)
  6. All present, edit, and review the slides

Did the group complete all parts of the assignment? Per the PowerPoint template, all slide requirements are complete including properly formatted Works Cited

All group members are involved

FCA: Develop with facts, details, examples

Students use facts, details, and examples to inform the viewers about the topic. Student cites research about Heart Healthy diets

FCA: Formal style & Objective Tone

Students avoid slang, text messaging abbreviations, and casual dialogue. Students use general academic vocabulary rather than everyday speech. 

Students inform the viewer without being too personal or conversational. They are aware that they are writing to a general audience who is, at least, somewhat interested in the topic.
